We started with a question: can safe food and farmer dignity grow together?
FPSF Aagro Innovations began by working directly with farmers to produce heavy-metal-free, pesticide-free turmeric through controlled soilless cultivation.
Our Journey
Why we moved away from conventional cultivation.
Conventional soil cultivation carries real risk: heavy metal contamination, pesticide residue, inconsistent yield, labour-intensive practices, disease incidence, and poor scalability. We saw these problems first-hand while working alongside farmers, and it shaped everything we built afterward.
What We Learned
Soilless cultivation solved some problems and created new ones.
Growbags and cocopeat reduced some risks, but introduced others: expensive growing media, salt accumulation, constant flushing, water and nutrient wastage, root and stem rot, high labour requirements, and no visibility into rhizome growth. We decided these trade-offs were not good enough to accept as permanent.
Where We Are Headed
Building RhizoGrow Vault as our flagship innovation.
Our current work — contamination-free turmeric grown through direct farmer collaboration — is the foundation. RhizoGrow Vault is the next step: a controlled cultivation system designed specifically around the problems we identified in the field.
